100th Monkey Project
Mission Statement

Our mission is to be a community gathering place for spiritually minded people, as well as the seekers; to support all people in their growth, enlightenment, wellbeing, and journey toward understanding and accepting themselves as important human beings in the greater community we call Earth.

Why "100th Monkey Project"?

The story of the "Hundredth Monkey Effect" apparently originated to describe the observations of scientists studying macaques (a type of monkey) on the Japanese island of Koshima in 1952. Some of these monkeys learned to wash sweet potatoes, and gradually this new behavior spread through the younger generation of monkeys—in the usual fashion, through observation and repetition. It was claimed that the researchers observed that once a critical number of monkeys was reached—the so-called hundredth monkey—this previously learned behavior instantly spread across the water to monkeys on nearby islands.

This story was popularized with the publication of the book The Hundredth Monkey. It presented the "Hundredth Monkey Effect" story as an inspirational parable, applying it to human society and the effecting of (positive) change therein.

We view this project as a way to feed the body, expand the mind and nourish the soul. In doing so, we hope that people will have as their goal to become that "100th Monkey" and make a big impact on the community!

The focus of my vision is Community. It is about creating space for this wonderful Community, with daily events, gatherings, and circles. People will walk in for a delicious lunch only to be introduced to a class in Reiki, Shamanism, EFT, etc.

My vision is a gathering place for those interested in Wellbeing, Enlightenment, and Empowerment. My desire is to have events happening every day of the week.
