Who Has Influenced Me?

Dear friends and supporters!

These are the 15 most inspiring and influential people in my life that have contributed to my "Enlightenment". I will continue to bring each of their messages to the 100th Monkey Project Center in a unique way.

Thank you for supporting the project in an effort to manifest more "light "in this world.

Awaken
Wayne W. Dyer - Author

I was 29 and searching for some real meaning and direction in my life. Somehow Wayne's first book Your Erroneous Zones found me.

You know that book, the one with the ultra "groovy "cover.

It was published in the 70's, but I was reading it for the first time in the early 90's. I felt a connection to this man immediately and I identified with the relationship he had with his father.

I quickly started to read all of his published books to date, and still do. In one of those books the following quote appeared: "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience." (Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, also attributed to Wayne Dyer).

That one quote completely changed the way I view my life and this (parenthesis) in eternity. Wayne's book awakened me and has catapulted me into a passionate, spiritual quest to this day.

As you keep reading, you will see how this "connection" has come full circle and my exposure to him is magically responsible for me bringing my vision to life. I will carry your message forward.

You are a gigantic influence in my life. Wayne, I love you ! And thank you.

Brilliance
Deepak Chopra - Author

Somehow, around the same time I became aware of Deepak Chopra through Wayne. This man is one of the most prolific writers and brilliant men on the Planet. Yet, he writes so beautifully and simply so anyone can understand.

I started to read all of his books and particularly liked the 7 Spiritual Laws of Success. I attended two of his lectures when I was back in Connecticut. Of course, I sat in the front row and was in awe of this man and his presence.

One of my biggest dreams is to visit the Chopra Center this year and get certified in Primordial Sound Meditation. Deepak Chopra has had a profound effect on my own spiritual development.

I hope to teach and bring Primordial Sound Meditation to my Center.

Deepak, I am so thankful for your teachings.

One of the funniest things I have heard him say is "God in not a dead white male in the Sky". Thanks Deepak for clearing that one up

Namaste and I love you! See you soon!

Empowerment
Oprah Winfrey - Host of the Oprah Winfrey Show

I just heard Oprah Winfrey say recently that she is afraid she will not reach her full potential in this lifetime. This amazing and dynamic woman does more in one day than most can accomplish in a lifetime.

The truth is, I have the same fear. However, I feel I am very soon to be closely aligned with my own dharma and purpose. The quality of her programming and magazine are not about ratings.

It is about dharma and living with purpose. It is about this woman living with purpose in every moment of her life and dedicating that process to the empowerment of others.

I also strongly identify with all that she has overcome in her lifetime. Oprah is the most inspirational woman to me, in this lifetime.

My dearest Oprah, I love you. You are a Goddess!

Wisdom
Andrew Weil - Author

I have read all of Andrew's books. I always appreciate his approach to diet and lifestyle because he doesn't focus on what not to do for good health. But rather, he focuses on all the positive and healing affects of certain foods and techniques such as meditation and breathing.

I will be supporting the Center with a Reiki Café. Yes, healthy, nutritious food infused with Reiki Energy. I have personally cooked many of Andrew's recipes and will probably be cooking some up at the Café. Andrew will probably have a few lunch specials named after him at the Café.

But, that is just a small part of what I have received from Andrew. All of his no nonsense spiritual suggestions such as beauty, music, art, etc that contribute to well being and healing.

Andrew you have had a huge impact on my life. I thank you for your teachings and I love you!

Well Being
Louise L. Hay - Author

I was drawn to Louise Hay in the early 90's, a little after I discovered Wayne Dyer. Her book You Can Heal Your Life had a big impact on me. I identified with all of her difficulties and struggles in her early life.

The message I received from her is this: Often the most compassionate and best teachers and healers are those that had to heal themselves deeply.

That is how I feel at this moment. All I have gone though has provided me with the passion and commitment to heal others and assist in their own enlightenment.

Louise, you are an amazing woman and a gift to me in my life. Thank you for your message and I love you!

Soul
Gary Zukav - Author

Gary's book The Seat of the Soul was a very good book for me. It clearly articulates how important our "intentions" are and the dynamics of our Soul. I have read this book several times and it is powerful.

I also admire the work he is doing in the area of Spiritual Partnerships.

I hope to get to one of his workshops in Ashland soon. He has such an engaging charm and presence. I have seen him on Oprah and he is fun!

You are a gift to me Gary. You have given me the opportunity to let my "light " shine" a little brighter. I love you too!

God
Neale Donald Walsch - Author

I was profoundly touched by the powerful trilogy of books Conversations with God.

Thank you Neal for allowing me to Re-member who I am and connecting me once again to the unconditional and compassionate God I somehow always knew there was.

I also admire the Humanity Teams work you are doing. I hope to bring that to the Center. God Bless and I love you!

Guidance
Esther and Jerry Hicks : The Teachings of Abraham - Author

I read the book Ask and It is Given a little over a month ago. The power of that book is mind-blowing. Ironically , the foreword to the book is by Wayne Dyer.

I originally got the book out of the Library after 65 holds had been placed on it. I read the book and immediately felt its power. I had to buy a copy. More about this book later on too!

So, basically while I was reading the book for the second time the most amazing thing happened to me. I was literally reading the page where Esther recalls her first encounter with Abraham. When I was reading her experience, I too had the same experience with Abraham.

My nose started dancing in the air as I read the words "I am Abraham". At that moment I had realized they were connecting with me. This was a confirmation that I had been guided by Abraham throughout my journey.

They guided me to read Wayne's first book 15 years earlier. Since that divine connection, my vision has been unfolding at a rapid pace. I feel like all of my learning in the last 15 years has prepared me to share all this knowledge with others.

Esther, Jerry, and of course Abraham, I feel your guidance and I love you all!

Truth
Michael Moore - Film maker

Thank you Michael for having the courage to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. And, for also fostering the notion that a movie can be more than a movie, it can be a "movement" and affect positive change in the world.

Let the revolution begin!

God bless and I love you!

Inspiration
Peter Gabriel - Musician

When I think of Peter Gabriel I think of Cathedrals. His music builds cathedrals.

I love the song In your Eyes and the inspired Passion soundtrack.

Thank you Peter. You are magic! I love you!

Art
Joseph Arthur - Musician

Joseph Arthur is my "John Lennon". A poet, an artist, and a musician. His music brings chills to my spine. I feel a very strong connection to him.

He was actually discovered by Peter Gabriel. Now that is no small statement. The collaboration of In the Sun with Michael Stipe and Chris Martin is electrifying.

Joseph, I plan on bringing more awareness to your art museum, MOMAR in Brooklyn; as well as your charitable work with A River Blue at the Center. Perhaps you can paint some monkey inspired art to hang in the Center?

God is awesome and so are you. I love you Joseph!

Passion
Bono - Musician

It was the early 80's when I saw U2 on MTV for the first time. Bono, leading this pack of 4 young boys on a barge in Ireland. They were screaming Gloria!.

I had never seen anything like this before in my life. I being of Irish descent and of the same generation was blown away. I knew there was something special about this band and lead singer.

As a young idealist Bono resonated with the way I felt at that time. You want to change the world and think you can. I believed Bono could save the world. And, in fact he is spending a great deal of his time doing just that.

Bono, I plan on bringing more awareness to the ONE campaign and all of your charitable work at the Center!

You Rock! I love you Bono!

Spirit
Mike Scott of the Waterboys

I feel a kinship with Mike Scott of the Waterboys. I am convinced that in another lifetime I was gathering around a fire, in a misty Celtic town, joined by others in the town, sipping red wine out of a big pewter goblet, and listening to Mike roar and play the banjo.

Mike Scott's music is very visual. He paints with his music and is the most mystical, poetic story teller. His music oozes of spirituality and the ethereal.

I am still listening to A Pagan Place and played it today a few times today at work. I love his music, especially when it is a moody, misty, day here in Seattle.

Thank you for your gracious spirit Mike.

May we meet once again in the afterlife. I love you!

Joy
KEXP - radio station

Kevin Cole - Programming Director
and afternoon air host

John Richards - Associate Director of programming
and morning air host

Music is one of the biggest joys in my life. KEXP is the best radio station of the planet playing host to a daily variety mix and 14 specialty shows covering every genre - Jazz to Reggae.

I am a phone volunteer at the station during pledge drives.

To see these two in action is enlightening. They both work their butts off. You cannot miss their inexhaustible passion and commitment to bring the most innovative music to the world.

In a nutshell:

John: Supremely caffeinated, smart, witty, funny. The most authentic way to wake up in the morning.

Kevin: Spiritual, ethereal, down-to -earth. Very good man to the core. Very.

Thank you John in the Morning and Kevin Cole.

Hey Kevin, do you "feel the energy"?

Thanks for bringing me joy and inspiration. I love you guys!

Magic
Mark Blair

While taking a rare, and I do mean "rare" lunch break away from my "cube" at Starbucks Coffee Company headquarters, I had a chance encounter.

I was quietly reading, Ask and it is Given, and keeping to myself. All of a sudden I hear a voice say to me "Are you enjoying your book?.

Well, I look up and there is a welcoming, distinguished man. We strike up a conversation and it turns out he is a Shaman and was reading one of Wayne's books.

I shared my vision with him, and he bought into it immediately. Mark is officially "Dream Team" member # 1. He is my mentor and guide.

Now, how many shamans do you know walking around Starbucks headquarters?

Mark, since I have met you in Mid July, my life has been pure magic. We are going to have so much fun with this project! When, I look back at this life, I know you will be ONE of the most important people in my life.

You are a magical blessing, a gift, and I love you!

Birth
Sheila F. Sullivan

This is how it all started. This is my mother, Sheila Francis Cannon Sullivan. Now a new grandmother to my nephew Jack.

I believe we choose our parents and our experiences (no matter how difficult, and in order to grow and evolve) before coming into this lifetime. Boy, did I pick a gem of a woman.

I was the first child, you know- "The experiment".

From the time I could walk my mom had me enrolled in everything from baton twirling, arts and crafts, clarinet lessons, belly dancing, horseback riding, and little league. In fact, she coached my little league team.

My mother had the sincerest of intentions. The intention was to encourage me to find my own natural gifts. Thankfully, these experiences created an open mind for myself; one that I very much have to this day.

Mom, I know I gave caused you grief. And you know what I mean when I say it wasn't anywhere near perfect. But honestly, as I write this in tears (you know, those tears that really hurt). I have to say, that in this moment, all, all I can see is the sheer beauty, necessity, and perfection of it all.

Thank you Mom, for giving me birth to this life.

And you know, that when we meet again in the after life. I will have some smart ass comment, like " I told you so".

I love you, I love you, I love you.

Your first born,
Patricia
